*** Approves Governor Okowa’s Request For Construction Of Film Village, Leisure Park At Ugbolu- Asaba
The Delta State House of Assembly resumed plenary on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 after a four week break for Christmas and new year celebrations.
The highlight of the resumed sitting, the first in 2020 was the approval of a request by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for the construction of a film village and leisure park in Ugbolu, Oshimili North local government area of the state.
The construction of the film village and leisure park in Ugbolu, Oshimili North is to be executed at the cost of Five Billion Naira.
The Governor’s letter was read on the floor of the House, by the Speaker, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori at plenary.
According to the Governor, the project would not only boost the revenue base of the state, but would also create jobs for the youths of the state.
He said the state government would provide thirty percent of the funding of the project while the investors would provide seventy percent, pointing out that the letter was to seek for the authorisation of the House.
The request was approved following a motion by the Majority Leader, Hon Tim Owhefere and was seconded by the member representing Udu constituency, Hon Peter Uviejitobor and was adopted.
